About this examination
The Union Public Service Commission's Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2027 has reached its preliminary stage, and the Commission has published the time table for the preliminary examination. The examination notice (No. 01/2027-GEOL) was issued on 2 September 2026, and applications for this cycle closed on 22 September 2026, so this post is about the examination schedule for candidates who have already applied, not a fresh application window.
Preliminary examination: 10 January 2027
The preliminary examination is held on Sunday, 10 January 2027, in two papers. Paper-I (General Studies, common for all streams) runs from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
