Bihar Vidhan Sabha Junior Secretariat Assistant — 15 posts

Bihar Vidhan Sabha Sachivalaya, Patna has invited online applications for 15 Junior Secretariat Assistant (कनीय सचिवालय सहायक) posts under Advertisement No. 01/2026. Online registration opens on 7 November 2026 at 11:00 AM and closes on 6 December 2026; the fee must also be paid by 6 December 2026.

Posts and reservation

15 posts: UR 7, EWS 2, SC 4, EBC 2 (ST 0, BC 0). 4 posts carry 35% horizontal reservation for women (1 each in UR, EWS, SC and EBC). The number of posts may increase or decrease. Reservation benefits apply only to Bihar domiciles.

Eligibility

Intermediate (10+2) or equivalent from a recognised board/council, held on or before the closing date. Hindi and English computer typing at 30 wpm is desirable (the Hindi typing test is on computer in Kurti Dev font). Candidates must be Indian citizens.

Pay and age

Pay Level-2: Rs. 19,900-63,200 plus allowances as per rules. Age as on 1 August 2026: minimum 18 years; maximum 37 years for UR male, 40 years for UR female, BC and EBC (male and female), 42 years for SC and ST (male and female). Relaxations: regular Bihar Government employees 5 years (maximum 5 attempts); PwD 10 years; Ex-Servicemen 3 years plus service (actual age not over 57 on the application date).

Fee

Application fee: Rs. 600 for Bihar-domicile EBC/BC/EWS/UR male candidates and all out-of-state candidates; Rs. 150 for Bihar-domicile SC/ST candidates, candidates with 40% or more disability, and all Bihar-domicile female candidates. Payment is online by Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card (bank charges extra).

Selection

Two stages: (1) Preliminary OMR examination, Matric standard, 100 questions, 400 marks (4 per question, minus 1 per wrong answer), 2 hours, bilingual Hindi/English — General Studies 50, General Science and Mathematics 20, Mental Ability and Logical Reasoning 30; qualifying marks UR 40%, BC 36.5%, EBC 34%, SC/ST/Female/PwD 32%. (2) Computer typing test: 30 wpm Hindi (Kurti Dev) and 30 wpm English, 10 minutes each, 1.5% error allowance. Final merit is from prelim marks among typing-test qualifiers; about 10 times the vacancies are shortlisted for the typing test. The exam programme will be published on the Bihar Vidhan Sabha website.
