The Gujarat Subordinate Service Selection Board (GSSSB), Gandhinagar, has issued a special recruitment drive advertisement, No. 466/202627, for 6 Food Safety Officer, Class-3 posts to be filled only by persons with disabilities, under the Commissioner of Food and Drug Control Administration, Health and Family Welfare Department. This is a separate advertisement from the general Food Safety Officer advertisement No. 465/202627 (84 posts), with the same application window on the OJAS website.

Vacancies and eligibility

There are 6 vacancies, reserved only for persons with disabilities. The qualification is the same as for the general advertisement: a Master's Degree in Chemistry, or a degree in Food Technology, Dairy Technology, Biotechnology, Oil Technology, Agriculture Science, Veterinary Science, Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology or Medicine, or an equivalent qualification, with the additional disciplines recognised under the 2023 notification, plus basic knowledge of computer application and adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both. The age limit is 18 to 37 years as on 10 November 2026, with relaxations as per the rules.

Salary and fee

Selected candidates are appointed on a fixed pay of Rs. 40,800 per month for the first five years, followed by regular appointment in the pay scale of Rs. 29,200-92,300 (Level-5) after satisfactory service, on the same terms as the general advertisement. The examination fee for this special drive is Rs. 400, payable online only, and the fee paid is refunded to candidates who appear for the examination.
