The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has issued Advertisement No. IBPS/2026-27/06, inviting online applications for direct recruitment by selection to three posts on a regular basis: Server Administrator Grade 'D', Assistant Grade 'B', and Programming Assistant Grade 'B'. The place of posting is IBPS, Mumbai, for all three posts, and the positions are based permanently in Mumbai — the Institute does not provide housing or accommodation assistance. Successful candidates will be appointed against the existing vacancies; no vacancy number is stated in the advertisement, and a wait list will also be maintained for six months. The selected candidates will be on a probation period of one year from the date of joining, and must execute a service bond of Rs. 1 lakh, serving a minimum of 2 years from joining or paying Rs. 1 lakh to IBPS.

Qualification and experience

Server Administrator (Grade 'D'), age 25-33 years as on 01.10.2026 (born 02.10.1993 to 01.10.2001): B.E./B.Tech (Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent), with minimum 3 years of work experience in the related field — hands-on experience on Linux Server Administration (RHEL or similar) and at least elementary experience on Network Management (L3 Switch). Assistant (Grade 'B'), age 23-30 years as on 01.10.2026 (born 02.10.1996 to 01.10.2003): Bachelor's degree with minimum 60 percent aggregate marks, preferably in Science, Commerce, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Applications, IT, Data Analytics, or Business Administration/Management, with demonstrable proficiency in computer applications and advanced MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, data validation and cleaning, conditional formatting, basic Excel automation), and minimum 2 years' post-qualification work experience in data validation, reconciliation, large datasets and MIS reporting, administrative or clerical roles, or data analysis using MS Excel. Programming Assistant (Grade 'B'), age 23-30 years: full-time BSc-IT, BCA, BSc-Computer Science or equivalent, or an Engineering Degree in Computer Science/IT, with minimum 2 years' post-qualification work experience handling various applications in UNIX/Linux environment, file handling, data entry and transfer, basic knowledge of computer programming, and good knowledge of MS-Excel.

Pay and selection

Compensation as on October 2026: Server Administrator (Grade 'D') basic pay Rs. 35,400, total emolument Rs. 73,020 per month (approx.), annual CTC approx. Rs. 14.09 lakh; Assistant and Programming Assistant (Grade 'B') basic pay Rs. 25,500, total emolument Rs. 54,210 per month (approx.), annual CTC approx. Rs. 10.57 lakh. Selection is by Online Examination and Personal Interview at IBPS, Kandivali (East), Mumbai; the online examination is held only at IBPS, Mumbai. Each online test is 100 questions, 100 marks, composite 90 minutes. Applications open 29 October 2026 and close 12 November 2026; the selection process is in November 2026. The application fee/intimation charges are Rs. 250 for each candidate, payable online from 29 October to 12 November 2026, with bank transaction charges borne by the candidate; separate applications and fees are required for multiple posts.
