IIT Kanpur Research Analyst Recruitment 2026

About this position

The Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur has advertised one Research Analyst post at the National Aerosol Facility, under PI Dr. Sachchida Nand Tripathi (Advertisement Number P.Rect./R&D/2026/218, posted 29 October 2026). The nature of the position is temporary/contractual, for 1 year or till the end of the project, whichever is earlier, renewed annually based on performance. The salary is Rs. 31,600-2,600-78,400 per month consolidated, commensurate with experience and skills.

Qualification and skills

Essential qualification: Postgraduate in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) or a relevant field, plus 3 years of relevant experience. Required skills: working knowledge of Python for data processing and analysis; basic understanding of AI/ML, statistical methods and data visualization; interest in environmental data analysis and a career in research; good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; basic proficiency in MS Office and the ability to work independently and in a team. Duties include processing, analysing and interpreting environmental and scientific datasets using Python and statistical tools, data quality checks and trend/pattern identification in air-quality and environmental data, graphs, dashboards and technical reports, supporting analytical workflows and AI/ML-based tools for environmental data visualization, and maintaining project records.
