About this position

The Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata, has issued Advertisement No. PU/507/ADV/921 dated 28 October 2026, for 1 Project Associate-I, purely temporary and full time, at the Agricultural and Ecological Research Unit (AERU), Kolkata, for the project "Centre of Excellence for Crop Protection: Sustainable Agrobiologicals for Climate-Resilient Agriculture", funded by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. The tenure is initially till 31 March 2027 from joining, which may be extended or terminated earlier based on performance and fund availability, and is co-terminus with the project. This is the newest Project Associate-I advertisement on the ISI jobs listing; a separate, older Project Associate-I (Machine Learning) advertisement (ADV/899, dated 14 October 2026) also exists and is not covered by this post.

Qualification and pay

Essential: M.Sc. in Agriculture, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology, or any other relevant discipline of Life Sciences from a recognised university or institute. Desirable: previous research experience in plant nanobiotechnology, plant stress physiology, and/or plant-microbe or plant-soil interactions; experience in conducting pot experiments, greenhouse experiments and field trials is preferred. Pay: Rs. 31,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance as per Institute rules for candidates with a valid CSIR/UGC-JRF/NET/GATE qualified national-level test; Rs. 25,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance for others. Age should not exceed 35 years as on 16 November 2026, with relaxation as stated above.
