RITES Apprentice Recruitment 2026 — 281 posts
RITES Limited has invited applications for 281 apprentice posts under Advertisement No. Pers./26-10/Apprentice/2026-27/01 dated 4 November 2026. The apprenticeship is for one year and is not extendable. This is a training engagement under the Apprentices Act, not a regular job, and it carries no right to employment with RITES afterwards.
Posts and stipend
Graduate Apprentice (Engineering): 125 posts (Civil 40, Architecture 2, Electrical 26, Signal and Telecom 2, Mechanical 36, IT 13, Chemical/Metallurgical 6), stipend Rs. 15,650 per month including Rs. 6,150 through direct benefit transfer. Graduate Apprentice (Non-Engineering): 43 posts (Finance 21, HR 22), also Rs. 15,650 per month. Diploma Apprentice: 62 posts (Civil 12, Electrical 19, Mechanical 26, Chemical/Metallurgical 5), Rs. 13,450 per month including Rs. 5,450 through direct benefit transfer. Trade Apprentice (ITI): 51 posts (Civil 2, Mechanical 23, Electrical 23, other trades 3 — Welder, Fitter, Turner, Plumber, Surveyor), Rs. 10,560 per month.
One point in the advertisement itself needs noting: the category-wise reservation row in the PDF adds to 277 (SC 32, ST 12, OBC 68, EWS 21, UR 144), while the advertisement's own grand total is 281. This post uses the advertised total of 281.
Eligibility
Engineering graduates need a four-year full-time B.E., B.Tech. or B.Arch. Non-engineering graduates need a three-year B.A., BBA, B.Com., B.Sc. or BCA. Diploma apprentices need a three-year full-time engineering diploma. Trade apprentices need a full-time ITI. Minimum marks are 60% aggregate for General and EWS candidates and 50% for SC, ST, OBC (NCL) and PwBD candidates against reserved positions. The degree or diploma final-semester result must not be before 5 November 2021 (a five-year rule); there is no passing-year restriction for ITI. Candidates awaiting their result as on 5 November 2026 are not eligible, and neither are candidates who have done an apprenticeship before, are currently undergoing one, or have one year or more of training or job experience after the essential qualification.
Age and fee
The minimum age is 18 years as on 5 November 2026. No maximum age is specified in the notification, and no application or examination fee is specified in it either.
Selection and how to apply
Selection is by a merit list based on the percentage of marks in the essential qualification. There is no written test and no interview; if marks tie, the older candidate ranks higher. Applying on NATS or NAPS alone is not enough. Degree and diploma candidates must first register on NATS and apply for the RITES opportunity, ITI candidates on NAPS, and every candidate must also submit scanned documents as a single PDF (maximum 10 MB) through the RITES application form at apprentice.rites.com by 25 November 2026. Only one application per candidate is allowed.
