Atal Bihari Vajpayee Institute of Medical Sciences and Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, New Delhi, has issued a notification (File No. Physio-11/1/2024-Physio-Dr. RMLH/1571) dated 28 October 2026, for engagement of 2 Consultant (Legal) posts, purely on a contract basis. The essential qualification is a Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B.) from a recognised University or Institution, with a minimum of three years' experience in the relevant field. The fixed remuneration is Rs. 60,000 per month, with no increment, DA, HRA or any other allowance admissible.

Duties

Indicative duties include handling and monitoring court cases (Supreme Court, High Court, CAT, Consumer Commissions and other courts and tribunals), drafting and vetting para-wise comments, counter affidavits, written statements, replies, appeals and other legal documents, coordination with Government Counsel, CGSC and Panel Advocates, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of Legal Affairs, and rendering legal opinion on administrative, service, contractual, procurement, medico-legal and RTI matters.

Terms and walk-in

The engagement is purely on contract, initially for one year from joining, extendable subject to satisfactory performance, requirement and approval, with no right or claim for regular appointment. The crucial date for eligibility (qualification and experience) is the date of the walk-in interview, and experience is counted after obtaining the LL.B. The walk-in interview is on 16 November 2026 at 11:00 AM, Room No. 06, Old Building, Dr. RML Hospital, New Delhi. Candidates must bring the duly filled-in application in the prescribed format (Annexure-I), one recent passport-size photograph, and original documents with one set of self-attested photocopies (proof of date of birth, LL.B. degree and mark sheets, Bar Council enrolment certificate, experience certificates, identity proof, and NOC if presently employed). No candidate will be registered after the closing of the registration time. If the number of candidates is large, the hospital may shortlist on qualification or experience, or conduct a written test or screening before the interview. No TA/DA will be paid. No age limit and no application fee are stated in the notification.
