SAMEER Recruitment 2026 — 140 posts, Mumbai/Navi Mumbai

The Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has invited online applications for 140 contractual posts at its Mumbai and Navi Mumbai centre under Advertisement No. 10/2026. The appointments are purely contractual and project-specific, for a maximum of two years or the duration of the project, and they confer no right to regularisation or absorption. This is a separate advertisement from SAMEER Advertisement No. 11/2026 for the Kolkata centre — do not confuse the two.

Posts and pay

The 140 indicative vacancies cover 32 post entries. Project Fellow 2 (Ph.D., Rs. 55,000 per month); Senior Project Scientist (RF and Microwave) 4 (Rs. 46,000); Project Scientist 8 (Rs. 40,000); Senior Project Associate (Physics) 3 (Rs. 37,500); Senior Project Engineer 8 (Rs. 37,500); Project Engineer 40 (Rs. 34,000); Project Associate 6 (Rs. 34,000); Project Scientific Assistant 22 (Rs. 23,500 for grade A, Rs. 27,000 for grade B, Rs. 31,500 for grade C); Project Technical Assistant 34 (Rs. 21,000 for grade A, Rs. 27,000 for grade B, Rs. 31,500 for grade C); Project Manager 3 (Rs. 45,000); Senior Project Executive 1 (Rs. 40,000); Project Executive 4 (Rs. 32,000); and Project Executive Assistant 5 (Rs. 23,500 for grade A, Rs. 27,000 for grade B). The pay is consolidated per month. The number of positions is indicative and may increase or decrease depending on project requirements and the availability of suitable candidates.

Eligibility and age

Qualifications are post-specific — Ph.D., M.Tech., B.E./B.Tech., M.Sc., MBA, Diploma, B.Sc., B.Com., B.A. or ITI as per the annexure — and a minimum of 55% marks is generally required. Project Technical Assistants need ITI (NTC) plus a valid NAC. Experience, where required, ranges from nil for freshers (Fellow, Project Engineer and Associate, Executive posts) to 2 years for Project Scientist, 3 years for Senior Project Scientist, Senior Project Engineer and Associate and Project Manager, and 3 or 8 years for the B and C grades of Scientific and Technical Assistant. The upper age limit, counted as on the closing date of 15 November 2026, is 40 years for Project Fellow, 35 years for Senior Project Scientist and Project Manager, 30 years for Project Scientist, Senior Project Engineer and Associate, Senior Project Executive and Project Executive, 28 years for Project Engineer and Associate, and 25, 30 or 40 years for the A, B and C grades of Scientific and Technical Assistant and for Executive Assistant grades A and B. No minimum age is stated. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (NCL), 10 years for PwBD (OH/HH, 40% or more) and service plus 3 years for Ex-Servicemen.

Fee and selection

The application fee is Rs. 100 flat, payable online on the recruitment portal and non-refundable. No category split or exemption is stated in the advertisement. The advertisement is authoritative on the fee: the portal's display of nil for contractual posts does not override the advertisement's fee clause.
