WAPCOS Limited, a Government of India undertaking, has invited applications for 29 Expert posts for work relating to various Power Transmission, Distribution and Solar Projects in India and abroad, under Advertisement No. 5/226/Power/T&D dated 23 October 2026. The engagement is on a project-term, purely temporary basis, and the number of posts is variable as per project requirement.

Indian projects — 11 posts: Transmission Expert 1, Civil Expert (Transmission and Substation) 1, Procurement and Contract Expert 1, Senior Environmental Safeguard Expert 1, Senior Social Safeguard Expert 1, Occupational Health and Safety Expert 1 (listed in the notice as Occupational, Health and Safety Officer), Environmental Expert 3, Project Accountant 1, Office Assistant 1. Overseas projects (Africa Region) — 18 posts: Project Manager 2, Distribution Substation Engineer 1, Distribution Line Engineer (Electrical) 1, Renewable Energy Engineer (BESS specialist) 1, Solar Power Plant Expert 1, Civil Engineer (Solar Power Plant) 1, Transmission Expert 1, Social and Gender Specialist 1, Distribution Engineer 1, General Site Supervisor 1, Resident Project Manager 1, Distribution System Supervision Coordinator (Electrical) 1, Distribution System Supervision Coordinator (Civil) 1, Health, Safety and Environment Expert 1, Social Expert 1, Distribution Protection and Control Design Engineer 2. That is 26 post entries carrying 29 vacancies.

Eligibility

Qualification and experience are post-wise and demanding — for example, the Transmission Expert needs a B.E. or B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering with not less than 10 years of professional work in planning, designing, managing, quality assurance and supervising transmission lines of at least 220 kV, including at least 3 years under PMC or consultancy services. Senior safeguard experts need a Master's degree and 10 years of experience, including work on at least two externally aided projects. Candidates should read the post-wise qualification and experience table in the notice PDF itself before applying, and submit their CV in the WAPCOS format only — applications in any other format will be rejected.

Age

The maximum age limit for engagement of consultants is 67 years. Age and experience are counted as on 1 October 2026. No minimum age is stated.

Pay and fee

No pay figure is given in the notice: "Salary shall be commensurate with the qualification and experience of the Consultant and shall be discussed at the time of engagement." No application fee is stated anywhere in the notice.
