HNBGU Junior Research Fellow (Geology) — 2 posts

Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna Garhwal University (HNBGU), Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand has invited applications for 2 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) posts in the Department of Geology, School of Earth Science, under Ref. No. HNBGU/2026/GEOLOGY/ dated 3 November 2026. The posts are for the MoEFCC-funded project 'Reconstructing Past 1000 Years Of Paleoclimate and Forest Dynamics in The Bugyals of Garhwal Himalaya, India: A Multi-Site Approach' (duration two years), under the supervision of Prof. N. K. Meena. The appointment is purely temporary and will terminate automatically with the project, with no claim of regular absorption.

Eligibility

Master's Degree in Geology/Applied Geology with minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade, and a valid GATE/NET or any national test conducted by central government departments and their agencies. If a GATE/NET candidate is not available, a student with a PG degree in the above subjects may be considered, and the fellowship will be given as per MoEFCC norms.

Pay and age

Monthly emoluments: Rs. 37,000 plus 9% HRA. Upper age limit: 28 years. The last date for submitting applications is the prescribed date for determining the upper age limit, educational qualifications and experience.
