The Conservator of Forest, Plantation, Research and Evaluation, Jharkhand, has invited candidates for a walk-in interview for one post of Senior Research Associate under Advertisement No. R-2/2026-27, for the Scientific Forestry Management Unit (SFMU), Ranchi. The project period is 4 years; the engagement is purely temporary and contractual, co-terminus with the project, with an initial appointment of 1 year.

Pay

Rs. 42,000 plus 18% HRA per month (the notice states this rate for the 3rd, 4th and 5th year of the project).

Eligibility

First Class M.Sc. in Forestry, Botany, Agriculture, Statistics, Remote Sensing and Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Wildlife Science, Zoology or Biotechnology, with 1st division or 60% marks or an equivalent overall grade point average. Candidates with a 3-year Bachelor's degree and a 2-year Master's degree must have UGC/CSIR/ICAR/ICFRE NET qualification or a Ph.D. in any of the above disciplines. Desirable: experience and willingness to work in forests with forest communities, a good understanding of the subjects and their application in the forestry sector, drafting research articles and formal letters, computer operation, and 4 years of work experience in research and development in the respective fields. Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is an added benefit, and candidates must be medically fit to work in different forest areas of Jharkhand.

Age

Maximum 35 years as on the date of interview (21 November 2026), with 4 years relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/women as per approved rules. No minimum age is stated in the notice.
