The National Institute of Technology Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow (JRF) post for the ISRO-funded project CHAAYANKAN: Comprehensive AI-based Geospatial Data Analytics for Tea Plantation Monitoring (Project Code SR-26-CS-050, Department of Computer Science and Engineering; PI Prof. Arati Paul, Co-PI Prof. Anup Nandy), under Advertisement No. NITR/SR/2026/Advt.-26CS050/L/082 dated 09 October 2026, with a corrigendum dated 29 October 2026. The last date, extended by the corrigendum, is 09 November 2026, and the online interview is on 11 November 2026 at 10:00 AM. The pay is Rs. 37,000 per month in Years 1 and 2 and Rs. 42,000 per month in Years 3 and 4, plus HRA if applicable.

Eligibility and age

Candidates need an M.Tech., M.E. or M.S. (R) after B.Tech. or B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering, IT or equivalent with 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA at both levels; or a B.Tech. or B.E. in CSE/IT with a GATE score in CS/IT/AI & DS or equivalent and CGPA above 7.0/10 or marks above 65%; or an M.Sc. (with GATE/NET) or MCA (with GATE/NET) in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent with CGPA 6.5/60%. The upper age limit is 28 years, relaxed up to 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female and 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy). No application fee is stated in the advertisement.
