SAMEER Kolkata Recruitment 2026 — 34 posts

The Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER), an autonomous society under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has invited online applications for 34 contractual posts at its Kolkata centre under Advertisement No. 11/2026. The posts are for developing Microwave Radiometers under Mission Mausam, the programme to build a weather-ready and climate-smart nation, funded by the India Meteorological Department. The appointments are purely contractual and project-specific, for two years or the duration of the project, whichever is earlier, and they confer no right to regularisation, absorption or continuation of service. This is a separate advertisement from SAMEER Advertisement No. 10/2026 for the Mumbai and Navi Mumbai centre — do not merge the two.

Posts and pay

Project Engineer (Electronics/EXTC/ECE): 7 posts, consolidated pay Rs. 34,000 per month. Project Scientific Assistant (A) — Electronics: 6 posts, Rs. 23,500 per month. Project Scientific Assistant (A) — Mechanical: 2 posts, Rs. 23,500 per month. Project Technical Assistant (A) — Electronics Mechanic: 5 posts, Rs. 21,000 per month. Project Technical Assistant (A) — Fitter: 9 posts, Rs. 21,000 per month. Project Technical Assistant (A) — Machinist: 2 posts, Rs. 21,000 per month. Project Executive: 1 post, Rs. 32,000 per month. Project Executive Assistant (A): 2 posts, Rs. 23,500 per month. The number of positions is purely indicative and may increase or decrease depending on project requirements and the availability of suitable candidates.

Eligibility and age

Project Engineers need a B.E. or B.Tech. in Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics and Communication, Electronics, or Instrumentation and Controls, or a B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering from an IIT, or an M.Sc. in Electronics, Electronics and Telecommunication or Instrumentation, with at least 55% marks. Scientific Assistants need a diploma in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks. Technical Assistants need ITI (NTC) in the relevant trade from a government-recognised institution or board with at least 55% marks and a valid NAC (apprentice certificate), with ITI plus NAC of at least two years' duration. The Project Executive needs a bachelor's degree with a full-time MBA or MMS, and the Project Executive Assistant (A) needs a bachelor's degree; both need a typing speed of 35 words per minute and a working knowledge of MS Office. No experience is required for any of these posts. The upper age limit, counted as on the closing date of 15 November 2026, is 28 years for Project Engineer, 25 years for Project Scientific Assistant (A) and Project Technical Assistant (A), 30 years for Project Executive and 25 years for Project Executive Assistant (A). No minimum age is stated. Relaxation is 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), 10 years for PwBD (OH/HH, 40% or more) and service plus 3 years for Ex-Servicemen.

The application fee is Rs. 100, payable online on the recruitment portal and non-refundable. No category split or exemption is stated in the advertisement. Selection for Project Engineers is by written test, online interview and in-person interview; for Project Executives by online and in-person interview; for Scientific Assistants by written test and in-person interview; and for Technical Assistants and Executive Assistants by interview and/or skill test.
