SGMH Senior Resident Doctors Recruitment 2026 — Walk-in, 38 posts

Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital (SGMH), Mangolpuri, Delhi, has invited candidates for a walk-in interview for 38 Senior Resident posts on an ad-hoc basis, under Advertisement No. F.1 (325)/SR Interview (Reg)/SGMH/Pt-VII/2022/17297 dated 4 November 2026. The engagement is for 89 days or till a regular candidate joins, whichever is earlier; total tenure is a maximum of 3 years including earlier service, with extension up to 3 years on satisfactory performance and conduct. The vacancies are tentative and may increase or decrease, and 4 percent of posts are reserved for persons with disabilities.

Department-wise posts

Medicine 4, Surgery 4, Orthopaedics 2, Paediatrics 7, Anaesthesia 6, Radiology 8, Forensic Medicine 1, Eye 2, ENT 1, Microbiology 1, Pathology 2 — 38 posts in total (UR 12, OBC 11, EWS 4, SC 6, ST 5).

Eligibility

MBBS with a PG Degree, Diploma or DNB in the concerned specialty from a recognised university or institution, and registration with the Delhi Medical Council (or proof of having applied for DMC registration). A candidate must not have completed 3 years of Senior Residency in any recognised institution, regular or ad-hoc. In shortage specialties (Radiology, Anaesthesia, Forensic Medicine and similar) or where no fresh candidates are available, candidates with 2 years of experience in the specialty but no PG qualification may appear; separate merit lists are drawn for fresh candidates and for candidates who have completed 3 years, and second-list appointments are for one year only and are non-renewable. If a PG Senior Resident joins against a seat filled by a non-PG Senior Resident, "last come, first out" applies.

Pay

Level 11 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, Rs. 67,700 to Rs. 2,08,700, plus allowances as admissible.

Age

45 years for General candidates as on the date of interview, relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 5 years extra for persons with disabilities. No minimum age is stated.

Fee

No application fee is mentioned anywhere in the notice.

How to attend the walk-in

Report at the 4th Floor Conference Hall, Administrative Block, SGMH, Mangolpuri, Delhi 110083, on 16 November 2026, between 9 AM and 12 PM for registration, with documents, one photocopy set and originals. Entry is not allowed after 12 PM. The result will be published on www.health.delhigovt.nic.in (result section), the SGMH website and the notice board. Candidates working in government service need an NOC from their employer. No TA/DA is payable. Selected candidates must join within 7 working days of the offer letter and accept the offer within 48 hours of the result declaration by email to ms-sgmh@delhi.gov.in.
