24 Staff Car Driver posts in Tamilnadu Circle

The Department of Posts (India Post), Tamilnadu Circle, has notified 24 Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) posts under Notification No. MSE/B9/XVI/2022-2023, dated 29 October 2026, from the Senior Manager, Mail Motor Service, Chennai: UR 13, SC 03, ST 0, OBC 07, EWS 01, with 02 Ex-Servicemen posts earmarked horizontally. The posts are split as Tiruchirappalli 01, MMS Chennai 15, MMS Madurai 01, RO Madurai 01, Salem West 03, MMS Coimbatore 02 plus 01 backlog. The last date is 30 November 2026 by 17:00 hours. Applications are offline only, by Speed Post.

Fee

The fee is Rs. 100, paid through e-payment at any computerized post office using the Challan Form (E-Biller Name: Senior Manager, MMS Chennai, CPMG Tamilnadu Circle; E-Biller ID 1000099022) by 30 November 2026. All Women, SC and ST applicants are exempt. The fee once paid is not refunded.

Eligibility, age and pay

Candidates need a valid driving licence for light and heavy motor vehicles, knowledge of Motor Mechanism (able to remove minor defects in a vehicle), experience of driving light and heavy motor vehicles for at least three years, and a pass in the 10th Standard from a recognized Board or Institute. Three years' service as Home Guard or Civil Volunteers is desirable. The age limit is 18 to 27 years for UR and EWS as on 30 November 2026, with relaxations for SC/ST (5 years), OBC (3 years), Government Servants (up to 40 years) and Ex-Servicemen. The pay is Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 (Level 2 in the Pay Matrix as per the 7th CPC) plus admissible allowances, with a probation of 2 years. Selection is by examination as per the Annexure-I pattern and syllabus, and allotment is by merit and preference.
