81 tentative IFS deputation posts for vacancy year 2027

The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) has invited nominations for 81 tentative Indian Forest Service deputation posts under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS-MoEF) for vacancy year 2027, in a circular dated 13 October 2026: Additional Director General of Forests (ADGF) 2, Deputy Director General of Forests (DDGF) 3, Inspector General of Forests (IGF) 7, Deputy Inspector General of Forests (DIGF) 34 and Assistant Inspector General of Forests (AIGF) 35. The last date of receipt of applications is 01 December 2026. The circular is hosted on moef.gov.in; the ifs.nic.in site itself showed a certificate error and could not be opened.

Who can apply

Only Indian Forest Service officers are eligible, under the Central Staffing Scheme dated 06 May 2011. Officers need the minimum years of service and the service left before superannuation counted with reference to 01 January 2027, and a completed cooling-off period. No application fee is stated, since this is a nomination route, and no pay is stated in the circular beyond the deputation levels.
